Tri club has strong showing........Victor

The Rage in the Sage triathlon took place on Sat, April 18 at Boulder Beach. Upwards of 700 athletes tackled the three distances offered, half iron, olympic and sprint. The main concern was the water temperature, it had everyone on edge, thinking about the frosty splash specially in the early morning. According to race organizers, the water chilled the thermometer at 63 degrees, although, some people tended to disagree, I for one, thougnt it was a bit cooler..........(I was born in the tropics!!!).

As far as I'm concerned, everyone succesfully completed the bone-chilling swim, no casualties. The bike course was hilly to say the least, accompanied with a bit of a head wind, very natural for SoNev!!!.........The run was hilly as well, two climbs greeted the runners and by then the temp was reaching 80 degrees!

I tip my hat to BBSC Endurance group, headed by Brogg Sterrett and his lovely sister Aubrion. They put together a fantastic show, none better anywhere with athlete safety the main goal. Our club was well represented with over 60 athletes competing in all distances and placing high as well. For further results check the
Rage's website.

Our president, Dave Carlson served as an official (marshall), he was out there making sure no one crossed the yellow line and no drafting on the bike course. Overall, it was a great event, one that no one should miss in the coming years. You can check out the photos on: www.zazoosh.com. Thanx for reading and I'll see you out training..........
